Not much to blog about since the last one; Emma is having therapy 3 times a week, although the therapist only stays about 30 minutes or sometimes even less and she is always late. Emma does quite a few exercises by herself and is getting around in the wheel chair to where she does the laundry (after I bring it to the wash room door) and she tidies up the Family room table where we now take our meals. She sometimes wants breakfast or lunch while seated in the love seat but dinner at the table. She has an appointment with the surgeon this coming Wednesday and after that (unless he changes it) she will only have 2 more weeks to go until she can start putting some weight on her left leg.
I went to the BMT clinic yesterday for blood work and a shot of Velcade and reviewed the schedule for comprehensive tests on November 19 prior to meeting with Dr. Tricot on the 23rd. These will be the same tests that I took prior to their accepting me for transplant treatment and which I have had once during the treatment. I had wondered whether I should start a second maintenance schedule prior to the tests inasmuch as I would finish the current cycle on Nov. 12, but they told me not to do so. I have asked to have my cycles start on Monday instead of Friday and when I go in this coming Monday only for a shot of Velcade I will ask whether I should start taking the Thalidomide on Monday morning Nov. 23, which seems logical to me. I started taking Dexamethazone yesterday morning (a 4-day period that comes every 14 days during the cycle) and as a consequence I didn't sleep good last night. It's side effects, which include sleeplessnes, seem to be much stronger than those of Thalidomide, which include drowsiness. The Ambien helps some and maybe I need to take 2 instead of just one.
