Emergency treatment at BMT

This morning I parked in the hospital garage and as I attempted to use the elevator to the second floor a lady standing on the left side of the door as passengers exited dashed in ahead of me because I waited for the passengers to get out of my way and then she pushed the door-close button as I entered and the door scraped the skin off the largest blood-filled bruise on my right arm. I didn't know how bad I was injured until I got to the reception desk in the BMT clinic and I was rushed into the Infusion Room where Jill immediately started cleaning up the blood and then put a bandage on the wound. There was a lot of blood on my shirt sleeve by then and it was noticed by everybody in the clinic and I had to explain how it happened.

The Aredia infusion and the Velcade shot were ready shortly after the wound treatment and Debby, a fairly new nurse, started the procedure after telling me that, because my creatine count was high, the infusion would take 4 hours. It actually took 4 and a half hours and was the longest one I have endured thus far. A wait at the pharmacy meant that I didn't get home until about 2:30, but they did give me a turkey sandwich for lunch.

Emma told me this afternoon that she thinks the new medication might not be as effective as the Tetracycline. She hasn't gotten any blisters yet, but she has seen some of the little red blotches that itch and that she treats with the topical salve.
