Surprise; Dr. Tricot's letter of Dec. 6 arrived today

It was quite a surprise to receive this letter today. It has been at least half a year since I promptly received Dr. Tricot's letter that he dictates during the appointment. Never less than one and a half months after the appointment. This letter is not particularly revealing and says absolutely nothing about coordinating visits to his new domicile in Iowa City. I have now been on the same visitation schedule for 2 years with, during that time, some modifications in amount of drugs or changes in their nature, but no significant changes in their effect on my energy level or stamina. I can't begin to express my disapointment in not going off the chemo as he had told me I would be doing. Dr. Tricot's statement that he wants to see me after 3 more cycles and that he would like to see me at least 2 or 3 times a year appears to mean that I will be on chemo for another year.

The visit to the Huntsman on Dec. 6 was considered to be Day One of the next maintenance cycle in spite of it being on a Tuesday and I took the oral chemo drug that night. I resumed the regular cycle by going in this past Monday. It should have been a very short visit but we (Emma went with me) didn't get out of there until about noon with no blood draw and only a Velcade shot to justify the implantation of a line in my port.
