Fear of another flu-pneumonia episode

As I was writing a post to the blog on Tuesday I realized that I needed to visit the bathroom so I hit the publish icon on the blog, and when I got up to go through the sliding door between this computer room I stumbled and fell against a wooden bookcase nest to the door breaking open one of the blood blisters on my left arm. Emma heard the commotion and rushed to assist me in claning up the blood from both arms and getting on to the toilet. Afterwards she insisted that I rest and I never did feel good enough to go back and edit Tuesday's post.

I wrote that post after a routine visit to the BMT clinic, which was preceeded by me shaving myself and having a normal breakfast: Emma insisted on driving me to the BMT clinic. But before we could leave we shoveled the driveway and our neighbor across the street came with her snow blower to clean the snow left in the entrance to the driveway. This effort may have been too tiring considering how the rest of the day went. I rested on the couch after we got home and later had a light lunch but still later I was nauseated and threw up on myself before Emma could get me a container; this feeling persisted and she finally called 911 and the EMTs came to check me out with an EKG a blood test to determine my sugar content and other tests. They offered to take me to the ER at St. Marks but also suggested that I wait to see how I get along and they would be willing to come back at any hour but suggested that I make an appointment with our family doctor. Emma made the appointment the next morning after a very restless night for both of us. And we spent 3 hours mostly waiting to see a Nurse Practioner who required blood test and a chest x-ray.

Dr. Kuo called wtih results this morning and I have now gone to a pharmacy for antibiotics to attack some sort of infection in my lungs. He had not seen the x-rays, only an interpretation by a technician so I told him what I saw on the x-ray and he then decided on the antibiotic. My bloodwork seemed to be OK and it showed my kidney function is good. Maybe no more surprises to come in the near futrure.
