Just to show what an old bald-headed codger looks like. Picture actually taken this afternoon (April 7) in the hotel room abecause I wanted to load a current picture with the blog and couldn't figure out how to do it on the laptop (cursed thing).
I actually felt sorry for the Oklahoma football team last night, they were so thouroughly out played by BYU it was almost like watching Alabama vs Utah last January. I hope that both Utah and BYU stay undefeated until they meet in November. That would be a barn burner.
I continue to feel good, have a good appetite, and don't have enough to do to avoid boredom. Except this laptop computer has me buffalowed. I got instructions from one of the night clerks on the registration desk Friday night on how to set up a Hotmail account on it, which he said would be much better than keeping my e-mail address on Earthlink without using their server. But after getting the account set up, which will be rudysfriend@hotmail.com. I found that I could not transfer the Earthlink file to the Hotmail acount for some unknown--to me--reason. I will add to this blog after the hospital visit tomorrow, which Nancy is going to take me allowing Emma some time off. More later.

The lab session this morning was even easier than Monday's session, we were through about 11:45 so went up to the 6th floor Bistro and had an early lunch. They want me there by 9:00 tomorrow for an infusion of Vicomycin to combat the bugs that got into my blood last month and sent me to the hospital. They tell me that there are still bugs in with my stem cells so they are going to double up the dose of mycovycin (I don't remember how to spell this) in order to kill them off as the infusion of stem cells goes on and thereafter for 5 more doses. They also tell me that I am going to feel much worse for the next 4 or 5 days and will no longer have any interest in telling anybody who asks that "I have to be told I am sick or I wouldn't know it."
Hi grandpa! If you're really bored, maybe we could have a conversation some time about your recommendations for our front yard landscaping...I really want some scrub oak (because it reminds me of your place), but I'm not sure the best way to get it...
ReplyDeleteHey Ron, This is another old guy: I've been following your stuff but only just know figured how to post a comment without using your email address. Which do you prefer?
ReplyDeleteHell my head looks almost like yours without any fancy chemicals. Grandaughter Midori is a Quality Specialist for Gambro BCT (Now called Caridian BCT)in Lakewood. They make your apheresis Spectra equipment. She's been to europe several times checking on their equipment in various hospitals. She thinks that you're in good hands.
Give Emma a hug for me. Annie and I continue to hold the fort here at Douglas Mtn. Getting ready for Winter. Larry Turner (the Elder)
Incidentally, I have no idea what the "Comment as:" profile selection means: Google Acct.,Word press, Live Journal...maybe I'll just check them all......Cheers
