Broken leg no fun

Emma came home from the hospital one week ago and visited the orthopedic surgeon yesterday for the first time since the surgery. He didn't say much; just to come again in 2 more weeks and she should continue to sleep with her fiberglass boot. He had at first told her she could sleep without it, but after seeing the x-rays he changed his mind. It is quite heavy and she is tired of it, but he had told her 2 weeks ago that she can't put any weight on her foot for 6 weeks.

My session at the Huntsman Cancer Institute on Monday lasted only long enough for one of the nurses to give me a shot of Velcade, for which I had been told earlier that the shot was the most expensive 3 seconds of my life. My schedule calls for me to go for lab work and Velcade on Friday every 2 weeks and then to go on the following Monday for just the shot of Velcade. I am going to try to get that schedule changed to where I go in on Monday for labs and Velcade and Thursday for Velcade only; so that when Emma is mobile we can think about a time-share exchange somewhere to use a space-banked week that we will lose if we don't use it by late February. There aren't any time shares that have early week check-ins; only Friday, Saturday or Sunday check-ins available.

If we duct-tape Emma's foot to a skateboard......

    Be well. Be safe.

  3. Hello Ronald,
It is good to read that everyones prayers seem to be working. I wanted to let you know that one of my best friends was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma four years ago. He is doing well. It was hard early on but he is enjoying life with his family and even gets to go shoot every month. Single action shooters. He has granddaughters as well but the oldest is only 6. You are in our prayers.
    With Love,
    Cele and Larry

  4. Hello Ron and Emma. I've been following your travails (Both of you) and I think that I've emailed you a couple of times (at your regular email address). You're sounding good.
I suspect that there is a book in your work--maybe even a screenplay.
All the best to you and Emma. I suppose that you will be able to get a jump on your Christmas cards this year. Larry Turner
