I certainly made a mistake by scheduling my visit to the Bone Marrow clinic for 10:00 AM instead of 9:00 AM last Monday because they were busier at 10 than I have ever seen at an earlier hour and I had to wait nearly 2 hours to get my Velcade shot, which was the only reason for me to be there. I did get some clarification of my schedule going forward, but find that I still have questions about which medications I should continue to take during the period from this coming Friday until November 23 when I see Dr. Tricot for the first time since September 23. I am not scheduled to go back to the clinic until Nov. 19, but I forgot to get a prescription filled while I was there so had to make a special trip for that and have another that will run out this week and if I am to continue taking it during the hiatus I will have to make another trip.
We went to Dr. Curtis's office Wednesday morning for a follow-up visit where he reaffirmed that Emma should stay off her broken leg for another 2 weeks, but the x-ray showed that the breaks are healing. He said that she probably will want or need to wear the boot while walking at home and she will want support from the walker or crutches for some time. He wants to see her again on the 17th, which will be be one day after the 6-week period is up. She is anxiously waiting for the 6 weeks to pass.
We have 2 theatrical events coming up during the BMT hiatus; the first is Tuesday at the Pioneer Memorial Theatre--a play written by Mark Twain and modernized by David Ives--and we will have to take the wheel chair from home for it, and the second is at the Hale Center Theater on the 19th for which Emma should be able to walk. Otherwise the next 2 weeks should be rather quiet with little to blog about.

Glad to hear that you two are on the mend -
ReplyDeleteI still think that a skateboard, some duct tape, and 10 minutes or so of adjusting things
would help Emma a whole bunch.
I'll bet you think we are a fine bunch. We get so busy that we do not take time to communicate. You have been in our prayers though. Sorry to hear about Emma's broken leg. Hope things are going better. Even though we do not keep in touch very well, you are in our thoughts. This is a great way to keep in touch. Sorry I did not check it out sooner. Love you, Barbara and Dean
