Tests at BMT and visit with Dr. Curtis

Last Tuesday was the end of Emma's 6th week from her accident and on her visit to Dr. Curtis on Wednesday she was told that her breaks are healing nicely and she can do as much walking as she would like. She hasn't wanted to do any without the comfort of the walker for support, but today she did do some walking with the crutches and even made it up and down the stairs to our bedroom. Now she wonders when we can get the bed moved back upstairs.

Thursday was a long day for me because of all the waiting I had to do. I was scheduled for lab work at 10:00, a PET scan at 11:00, and a bone marrow biopsy at 3:00, but I think the PET scan crew forgot that I had been given the radioactive infusion and instead of coming for me after 75 minutes they waited almost 2 hours so that the scan wasn't finished until almost 2:00. I hadn't had anything to eat (or drink except a little water) since Wednesday evening so went to the 6th floor Bistro for a late lunch before the biopsy, which went more or less as scheduled. But then I had to wait at the pharmacy for 3 prescriptions, which had been called in and supposedly would be waiting for me, but were not so I had to drive home in the afternoon traffic.

The results of the tests will be sent to Dr. Tricot and I expect to discuss them with him when I see him next Monday, which will be the first visit since September 23 at which time he told me that the maintenance program would last a year. I started the first maintenance cycle on the 16th of October and didn't start another because of the scheduled tests this week.
