Three months after the accident

I should have written this yesterday because that was 3 months after Emma fell from a ladder in the upper garage and broke her leg. She celebrated by going out in the car for the first time and then went again today. She frequently walks all around the house without her cane and she has resumed vacuuming the carpet and hardwood floors. I have been relieved of much of the cooking and other kitchen chores, but I continue to function as a go-fer. Emma hopes to be able to resume her aquasize regimen by the end of the month, but probaly won't try until after she sees Dr. Curtis on the 27th.

There is very little news to report about my status. Next Monday I will be midway through the current maintenance cycle, which is the third cycle none of which have been continuous as they initially were supposed to be, but I am on the same medication schedule that Dr. Tricot specified back on November 23 and will continue with for a total of 3 cycles. He was quite pleased with the results of this med-schedule when we saw him December 22 and so far has not indicated any concern about the increase in the kappa free light chain number as found in the lab report last Monday.

I continue to feel good and seem to be regaining my strength without gaining weight. I seem to be on a plateau at around 170 pounds, fluctuating a pound or 2 above or below depending on the number of cookies I have with lunch or as a bedtime snack. When Karen needed more flour for her baking a few days before Christmas I carried a 25 pound bag of flour upstairs for her and found it was all I could do, but then on the 29th I was able to load 50 pound bags of salt into and out of a shopping cart with no more difficulty than the flour posed.
