BMT visit and leg pains

We had terrible driving conditions Sunday evening because of a fog bank that rolled in, so I planned on allowing a lot of time to get to the clinic yesterday morning. But a light rain storm that started sometime during the night had much improved the visibility and the roads were only wet from the continuing storm. I arrived on time and was soon taken in for vitals and installation of a line in my port and the with drawal of 3 vials of blood. I told the Infusion nurse about the pains I have been having in my quadricep muscles in both legs and she said the pain might be caused by a calcium deficiency, but when the report on the blood came from the lab there were no deficiencies that might account for muscular pains.

I have since decided that the pains in the quadricep muscles, which I first noticed last Wednesday, may have been brought on by the extraordinary exertions during the Christmas tree cutting expedition the day after Thanksgiving. We were walking around in knee deep snow; I tried to follow someone else's path, but couldn't do so everywhere and I was more tired that night than I have ever been. I did nothing Saturday or Sunday because of a day-long snow storm that didn't end until Monday morning. I then got out the snow blower and cleaned both driveways, our sidewalks and the east sidewalk all the way south to the Fredrickson's driveway, and then our deck. We had more snow to remove on Tuesday and when I walked around the block Wednesday morning I began to feel tightening in my quadriceps, which were quite painful that evening. The pain is present only when I walk up and down stairs and has begun to diminish since last Friday. I expect it to be entirely gone in another few days.

I had changed my appointment at the clinic on Monday from 9:00 to 8:30 hoping to get home in time to join a conference call scheduled for noon eastern time that was going to review the status of efforts to settle the affairs of 3 estates that own properties that were generated by the J.L. Carroll Mineral Exploration Office, which had largely been my responsibility. Because of the conference call I had asked Jennifer, nurse who handles prescription orders, to request my refills, she came back about the time I received my Velcade infusion and told me all the orders were ready. This was about 9:40 and I expected to get home around 10:15 or so, but when I got to the pharmacy they didn't know anything about my prescriptions and I guess that all Jennifer did was to make sure that I still had unfilled prescriptions available and had not called the pharmacy so then I waited about a half hour to have them filled and had to have one of them for Monday so couldn't come back another day to pick them up. As a result I got home in time to join the conference call just as it was winding up and made no contribution.
