Two hour Aredia infusion

The BMT clinic visit this morning was much shorter than I had expected it to be. For months my Aredia infusion has taken 4 hours or a little more because the nurses have told me that my kidney function is impaired so they have to infuse the Aredia slowly, but today Jill found a note on the infusion flask calling for a 2-hour rate. She called the pharmacy and the 2-hour rate was confirmed so I was finished just after 11:30 and I was home in time for lunch. I will be going back on the 16th for labs, a PET scan and a bone marrow biopsy and then will see Dr. Tricot on the 20th, which would be day one of cycle 13 if he continues the same maintenance program into next year. I will continue to do whatever he asks, but I rather hope that the chemo regime that I am on is reduced because I have little or no stamina now and have been told this condition will not improve until I am off the chemo.

The pain in my quadricep muscles is diminishing, but remains a problem in my left leg in going up stairs. I can take a step with my right leg and raise my left leg to the step above, but I have to hold on to a hand rail in order to raise my body up to the step above. I hold on to the hand rail going downstairs, but I don't worry about falling on my way down. I have just about convinced myself that the tree cutting expedition the day after Thanksgiving was the start of the leg problem even though I didn't notice it for a few days.

Emma's aquasize class has not helped her leg as much as hoped. She says the leg feels real good while she is in the pool and she has no trouble getting to and from the pool, but when she sits on the couch in our family room for an hour or more she grimaces with pain when she stands up and she has to flex her ankle for a few minutes before she can move.
