Slow recovery from swine flu

Traffic to the Huntsman Hospital was light today, even lighter than it was on the President's Day holiday and the BMT clinic was not very busy so I was out of there in about one hour. Elaine drew 3 vials of blood and I was given a Velcade shot in what I thought was less time that it should have taken to get results of the blood work. Then I had a wait at the pharmacy of more than a half hour so I didn't get home until after 12:00 where Emma was waiting for me to accompany her to an appointment with the Univ. of Utah Dermatology doctor who has been treating her for the bulous phemphigoid.

All of this activity has left me very weak; a condition that has persisted ever since coming home from my 9-day session in St. Mark's hospital. After ridding my body of all the excess fluids from the saline drips I had received in the hospital my weight dropped down to 153 pounds and I am regaining that lost weight very slowly. My appetite seems good although I am soon satisfied and I do not eat between meals because of medication I am supposed to take 2 hours after eating.
