Humana's restrictions on drug purchases are hugely frustrating
Switching my appointment time from 10:00 AM to 8:00 AM did not have the desired effect in that I still waited about 45 minutes before going in for vitals and I had encountered very heavy traffic on my way to the hospital. So I decided not to make a permanent change to an 8:00 AM appointment except on May 13. Besides the delay in the check-in lobby I had enormous delays at the pharmacy with getting the prescription for thalidomide renewed and then when it was finally aproved Humana decreed that it could not be renewed until May 3 instead of the day I was there, May 2. Humana will only let me have 28 pills and that is only 75% of what I need for a 28-day cycle. I intend to complain to the highest level of Humana that I can reach about the need for a 28-day supply instead of the 28 pill allowance they give me. Dr. Tricot has prescribed that I take two 50 mg pills one day and then take one the next day and Humana seems incapable of understanding that sequence.
