PET scan today and further tests Monday

The third cycle tests that I have had in the past during the last week of the third cycle in preparation for a meeting with Dr. Tricot began today (the last working day of this 3rd cycle)with a PET scan. Then I will go to the clinic early Monday morning for bloodwork followed by a bone marrow biopsy and a Velcade shot. A conference with Dr. Tricot is scheduled for next Friday by which time he will have seen the results of these tests. I hope that he will have seen enough improvement in my bone marrow and general condition that he will make some changes in the frequency of my visits to the clinic. Right now the weekly Velcade shots and the bi-weekly cyclophosphamide tablets leave me with so little stamina that I can do almost nothing to help Emma with the yard work. I tried some work a week ago Tuesday and pulled a muscle in my back on the left side that was so painful that I could scarcely bend over or reach for things. It still bothers me a little.

I have arranged with our new next door neighbors to use their swimming pool as a source of water for a rehearsal of our Golden Hills Volunteer Fire Department tomorrow morning and I hope that I will have enough energy to get the fire hose connected and put gas in the pump engine. Our rehearsals were occasions for pool parties while Ivy owned the house but the last 3 years with new owners the rehearsals were rare and not occasions for partying.

Emma's leg continues to bother her, but it hasn't kept her from planting flowers and cutting excess foliage from the shrubs in the front yard. She even went and washed the car while I was at the clinic today. I don't know when she will see Dr. Curtis, the surgeon, again, but she should do so because the swelling in the ankle has persisted especially when she rests the leg while watching television from the family room couch.
