Bloody right eye attracts attention and results in another doctor visit

I am posting today (Wednesday) instead of having done it yesterday following my visit to the BMT clinic because my very ugly right eye attracted so much attention (and possibly worries) that an appointment was made for me with Doctor Smith who shares offices with Dr. Fassio who Emma and I both see for our eyes.  Emma went with me for the visit with Dr. Smith because she thought my eyes might be dilated and I would need help getting home.  The doctor did not dilate my eye she just examined it with some sort of microscope and told me she could see a broken blood vessel on the eyeball inside a sac that enclosed the ball, which accounted for the blood surrounding the eyeball. Inasmuch as there has been no pain and I can see more-or-less clearly with the eye there really isn't anything that can be done to hasten the process.  I couild not tell Dr. Smith how it had happened and she said that is not unusual.  I am sure Jamie will be relieved when I next see her, which should be next Monday..

I went to the clinic on Tuesday instead of on Monday because the staff expected a crowd on President's Day and they wanted to be sure that they had an exam room available for my meeting with a P.A.  I was greeted at the registration desk by Nancy who immediately spotted my red eye and after signing me in sent me to wait in the hallway waiting area.  Mary a nurse I have see around the Infusion Room, but she has not previously worked with me, soon came and took me in to put a line in my port and expressed surprise that I remembered which side to use.  She drew 2 vials of blood and sent me out again to wait.   Bernadette came and took me for weighing and height measurement and then to the exam room where she finished taking my vitals, reviewed all my medications, and told me I would have to ask Jamie, the PA, about the frequency of taking Tylenol, which the latest refill instructions said it should not be taken for longer than 10 days and I had been taking one at bedtime ever since I fell and hurt my knee and leg the day after Thanksgiving.

When Jamie (I might be spelling her name wrong because I could not see her name tag) came in she saw my red eye and told me I should see an eye doctor and to remind her tell the registration people to make an appointment for me, which i did and which they did (see above).  She printed out the results of the blood work and was disappointed that they had not drawn enough blood to check the Myeloma markers; she rectified that by asking Kristy to draw another vial before removing the line after the Velcade infusioin.  She told me that when I come in next week I should bring a 24-hour urine collection.  Jamie told me that the 10-day time frame for taking Tylenol is a matter of the maker covering their butt and my use of a single pill at bedtime is not a cause for concern and I could take another one after 6 hours and it would be much better than taking Aleve, which I had been doing.
