Penultimate visit with harried surgeon

Dr. David E Curtis, surgeon who operated on Emma's broken leg, examined it this afternoon and pronounced it healed enough that she can go back to the aquasize program that she has missed so much. She should keep a bandaid with some Neosporin on it in the pool and then change the bandaid when she gets out. He asked to see her for a final checkup in 2 months. The upper picture was taken of the last x-ray that he had taken at our last visit on December 30, which she had to return today, and shows the plate and screws quite clearly. Harried because Dr. Curtis was the only doctor in the office today and he had a full waiting room when we got there for a 3 o'clock appointment. We were still waiting at 3:45, but the visit was short and we got out by 4:05 with the waiting room still nearly full.
No news from me except I have had no ill effects from the Swine flu shot I got Monday, but I had a very sleepless night Monday. I had a hard time going to sleep and then the Ambien only let me sleep until about 3:00 AM and none thereafter. The combination of dexamethazone in the morning and the heavy dose of cyclophosphamide that evening probably accounts for the sleeping difficulty. I had no problem last night until a phone call about 6:40 and then a fire engine a few minutes later responding to a false alarm on our security system.
