Dermatology specialist

Emma and I went to the University of Utah Hospital this morning for an appointment with Dr. Christopher Hull concerning her blistered leg. The blisters have cleared up and she has been feeling better once she finished with the pills prescribed by Dr. Horsley. The stitch put in her leg to close an incision for a biopsy on her visit April 26 was removed by Dr. Hull's nurse and he then told her that Dr. Horsley's diagnosis based on 2 samples for biopsies taken by Dr. Horsley was confirmed by the biopsy that the University lab had performed. The earlier diagnosis of bullous pemphigoid, which Dr. Horsley started treating her for, seemed more like a guess than a true diagnosis. But Dr. Hull said that this infection is poorly known, they don't know what causes it, and they more or less guess at treatments for it. He said that she should continue taking the medications prescribed by Dr. Horsley (a medicated salve and an anti-biotic), but he wrote a new prescription for the anti-biotic that involved the same dosage in larger pills. Continuing the anti-biotic was quite disappointing because Emma thinks the pills make her light-headed and cause her to sleep more than she wants. Dr, Hull wants to see her in 6 to 8 weeks so we made an appointment for June 17.
