Routine, but slow, visit; Emma's leg better

The weather girl last night warned us that the roads this morning would be wet and slow so I left 10 minutes early. She was right. but I still got to the BMT clinic by 8:55 for a 9:00 o'clock appointment. Then I waited until after 9:40 to have my vitals taken and a line placed in my port so that blood could be drawn. The Velcade shot was not administered until the bloodwork was reported so I didn't get to the pharmacy to pick up a couple of prescriptions until almost 11:00.

Emma's leg has improved enough that she joined her friends this morning at Einsteins for coffee and then went shopping so she didn't get home until about 12:25, about 40 minutes after I did. The ankle and foot swell up whenever she is on her feet for very long so she frequently can be found on the couch with her leg propped up. She feels good enough that she suggested yesterday that we take our golf clubs with us to Lake Havasu City when we leave for a time-share exchange after my clinic visit on Thursday.

I am not sure I have enough energy to play golf. After hitting a small bucket of balls when we were in California last month I was so tired I knew I couldn't play and we left a day early. Our MD neighbor came over Friday evening to check on Emma and then looked at my most recent blood work and told me that the reason I lack energy is that my blood cell counts are low and she expects them to remain low as long as I am on chemo. I actually feel good most days and have a good appetite even though my weight remains around 170 pounds, which is 15 pounds lower than it was when the treatment started. Maybe my stomach has shrunk?
