Heavy snow storm to drive through

The late weather news last night predicted wet and possibly slick roads for this morning's commute. So I left home at 8:20 to go to the BMT clinic and drove through the worst snow storm that I have had to drive in this winter, fortunately the traffic was light and I got to the clinic just before 9:00. The clinic was very crowded and I didn't have my vitals taken until after 9:30 and then I had to sit in a chair in the back end of the clinic for my Velcade shot, which wasn't administered until about 11:00. Emma told me later today that we had gotten about 3 inches of snow on the deck, almost all of which had melted by the time I had reached home shortly after 11:30.

I continue to feel good and have none of the side effects from the medications that the papers packed with the pills describe. Andrea, today's PA, checked my heart and lungs and said they are good and then asked about my appetite and bodily functions and seemed surprised when I told her everything seems normal except my reduced energy level, which is probably about half what it was prior to beginning treatment last August. Andrea also told me that, based on the bloodwork, my kidney function seems to be normal; this abnormal function was one of the reasons Dr. Kuo ordered follow-up tests last April. Kate Wilson, the MD next door who is in practice with Dr. Kuo our so-called family doctor, looked at my bloodwork a couple of weeks ago and told me that with my white cell, red cell, and platelet counts as low as they are I shouldn't expect to regain the energy level I had prior to treatment. And as long as I am on this maintenance program with chemo drugs 6 times every 4 weeks (Velcade 4 times and cyclophosphamide twice) those counts are going to stay depressed.
